ಏಕೋನ ಸಪ್ತತಿತಮ ಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ

ತತೋ ರಾತ್ರ್ಯಾಂ ವ್ಯತೀತಾಯಾಂ ಸೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಸಬಾಂಧವಃ |
ರಾಜಾ ದಶರಥೋ ಹೃಷ್ಟಃ ಸುಮಂತ್ರಂ ಇದಮಬ್ರವೀತ್ ||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ವ್ಯತೀತಾಯಾಂ ರಾತ್ರ್ಯಾಂ ಹೃಷ್ಠಃ ರಾಜಾ ದಶರಥಃ ಸ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯಬಾಂಧವಃ ಸುಮಂತಂ ಇದಂ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್ |

Then with the passage of the night the delighted Dasaratha got together with his teachers and relatives and spoke to Sumanta as follows.

ಅದ್ಯಸರ್ವೇ ಧನಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷಾಃ ಧನಮಾದಾಯ ಪುಷ್ಕಲಮ್ |
ವ್ರಜಂ ತ್ವಗ್ರೇ ಸುವಿಹಿತಾ ನಾನಾರತ್ನಸಮನ್ವಿತಾಃ ||
ಚತುರಂಗ ಬಲಂ ಚಾಪಿ ಶೀಘ್ರಂ ನಿರ್ಯಾತುಸರ್ವಶಃ |
ಮಮಾಜ್ಞಾಸಮಕಾಲಂ ಚ ಯಾನ ಯುಗ್ಯಂ ಅನುತ್ತಮಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಆದ್ಯ ಸರ್ವೇ ಧನಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷಾಃ ಪುಷ್ಕಲಮ್ ಧನಂ ಆದಾಯ ವಜ್ರಂ ತ್ವಗ್ರೇ ಸುವಿಹಿತಾ ನಾನಾರತ್ನ ಸಮನ್ವಿತಾಃ ಸರ್ವಶಃ ನಿರ್ಯಾತು ಇತಿ ಮಮ ಆಜ್ಞಾ| ಸಮಕಾಲಂ ಚತುರಂಗ ಬಲಂ ಚ ಯಾನಯುಗ್ಯಂ ಅನುತ್ತಮಮ್ ಚ ಶೀಘ್ರಂ ( ನಿರ್ಯಾತುಮ್ ಇತಿ )|

"The head of the treasury may take ample money , precious stones and jewels and move ahead. The four fold forces too move along with variety of vehicles".

ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ವಾಮದೇವಶ್ಚ ಜಾಬಾಲಿರಥ ಕಾಶ್ಯಪಃ |
ಮಾರ್ಕಂಡೇಯ ಸ್ಸುದೀರ್ಘಾಯು ಋಷಿಃ ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯನಸ್ತಥಾ ||
ಏತೇ ದ್ವಿಜಾಃ ಪ್ರಯಾಂ ತ್ವಗ್ರೇ ಸ್ಯಂದನಂ ಯೋಜಯಸ್ವ ಮೇ |
ಯಥಾ ಕಾಲಾತ್ಯಯೋ ನ ಸ್ಯಾತ್ ದೂತಾ ತ್ವರಯಂತಿ ಮಾಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಏತೇ ದ್ವಿಜಾಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಃ ವಾಮದೇವಶ್ಚ ಜಾಬಾಲಿಃ ಕಾಶ್ಯಪಃ ಸುದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಃ ಮಾರ್ಕಂಡೇಯಃ ಚ ತಥಾ ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯನಃ ಅಗ್ರೇ ಸ್ಯಂದನಂ ಯೋಜಯಸ್ವ | ದೂತಾಃ ಮಾಂ ತ್ವರಯನ್ತಿ ಯಥಾ ಕಾಲಾತ್ಯಯೌ ನ್ ಸ್ಯಾತ್ |

"The Brahmins Vasishta Vamadeva , Jabali, Kasyapa , Markandeya with long life and similarly Katyayana should move ahead. The Janaka's messengers are saying that we should not lose time and are hurrying me".

ವಚನಾತ್ತು ನರೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಸಾ ಸೇನಾ ಚತುರಂಗಿಣೀ |
ರಾಜಾನಮ್ ಋಷಿಭಿಸ್ಸಾರ್ಥಂ ವ್ರಜಂತಂ ಪೃಷ್ಠತೋs ನ್ವಗಾತ್ ||

ಸ|| ನರೇನ್ದ್ರಸ್ಯ ವಚನಾತ್ ಸಾ ಚತುರಂಗಿಣೀ ಸೇನಾ ರಾಜಾನಮ್ ಋಷುಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ಥಂ ಪೃಷ್ಠತೋ ಅನ್ವಗಾತ್ ||

With those words of the king, the army with four fold forces followed him along along with Rishis.

ಗತ್ವಾ ಚತುರಹಂ ಮಾರ್ಗಂ ವಿದೇಹಾನಭ್ಯುಪೇಯವಾನ್ |
ರಾಜಾತು ಜನಕ ಶ್ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಪೂಜಾಮಕಲ್ಪಯತ್ ||

ಸ|| ಮಾರ್ಗಂ ಚತುರಹಂ ಗತ್ವಾ ವಿದೇಹಾನ್ ಅಭ್ಯುಪೇಯವಾನ್ | ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ಜನಕಃ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ರಾಜಾ ಪೂಜಾಮ್ ಅಕಲ್ಪಯತ್ ತು ||

Having travelled for four days they reached the city of Videha. Janaka who celebrated with many qualities, learning that the king ( Dasaratha) is coming went ahead to receive and worship him.

ತತೋ ರಾಜಾನಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ವೃದ್ಧಂ ದಶರಥಂ ನೃಪಮ್|
ಜನಕ ಮುದಿತೋ ರಾಜಾ ಹರ್ಷಂ ಚ ಪರಮಂ ಯಯೌ ||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ವೃದ್ಧಂ ದಶರಥಂ ನೃಪಮ್ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ಮುದಿತಃ ರಾಜಾ ಜನಕಃ ಪರಮಂ ಹರ್ಷಂ ಯಯೌ ||

Then the delighted Janaka came ahead to received the old King Dasaratha and announced his delight.

ಉವಾಚ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೋ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಂ ಮುದಾನ್ವಿತಃ |
ಸ್ವಾಗತಂ ತೇ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋs ಸಿ ರಾಘವ ||
ಪುತ್ತ್ರಯೋರುಭಯೋಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿಂ ಲಪ್ಸ್ಯಸೇ ವೀರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಜಿತಾಮ್ |||

ಸ|| ಮುದಾನ್ವಿತಃ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ( ಜನಕಃ) ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಂ( ದಶರಥಂ) ಉವಾಚ | ಮಹರಾಜ! ಸ್ವಾಗತಂ ತೇ | ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋsಸಿ|ಹೇ ರಾಘವ ವೀರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಜಿತಾಮ್ ಪುತ್ರಯೋಃ ಉಭಯೋಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿಂ ಲಪ್ಸ್ಯಸೇ ||

The delighted best of men Janaka spoke to the best of men ( Dasaratha) . " Maharaja ! Welcome to you. I am fortunate. Oh Raghava ! share the delight of your two sons who with their valor won the reward."

ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಋಷಿಃ |
ಸಹ ಸರ್ವೈರ್ದ್ವಿಜಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೈಃ ದೇವೈರಿವ ಶತಕ್ರತುಃ ||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಋಷಿಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಸರ್ವೈಃ ದ್ವಿಜಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೈಃ ಸಹ ಶತಕ್ರತುಃ ದೈವೈಃ ಇವ ದಿಷ್ಠ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋ ( ಅಸಿ) ||

" The arrival of most radiant and venerable sage Vasishta along with the best of Brahmins is also our fortune".

ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಮೇ ನಿರ್ಜಿತಾ ವಿಘ್ನಾ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಮೇ ಪೂಜಿತಂ ಕುಲಂ |
ರಾಘವೈ ಸ್ಸಹ ಸಂಬಂಧಾತ್ ವೀರ್ಯಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೈರ್ಮಹಾತ್ಮಭಿಃ ||

ಸ|| ವೀರ್ಯ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಟೈಃ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಭಿಃ ರಾಘವೈಃ ಸಹ ಸಂಬಂಧಾತ್ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಮೇ ನಿರ್ಜಿತಾ ವಿಘ್ನಾ | ಮಮಕುಲಂ ಪೂಜಿತಂ ||

"Our fortunate bond with Raghus the best of warriors and great ones resulted in all the obstacles moving away. We are honoured".

ಶ್ವಃ ಪ್ರಭಾತೇ ನರೇಂದ್ರೇಂದ್ರ ನಿರ್ವರ್ತಯಿತುಮರ್ಹಸಿ |
ಯಜ್ಞಾಸ್ಯಾಂತೇ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಿವಾಹಂ ಋಷಿ ಸಮ್ಮಿತಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಸ್ವಃ ಪ್ರಭಾತೇ ಯಜ್ಞಸ್ಯ ಅನ್ತೇ ಋಷಿ ಸಮ್ಮಿತಂ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಿವಾಹಂ ನಿರ್ವರ್ತಯಿತು ಮರ್ಹಸಿ ||

"Tomorrow morning after the completion of the sacrifice it is appropriate to conduct the marriage of the best of men".

ತಸ್ಯ ತದ್ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಋಷಿಮಧ್ಯೇ ನರಾಧಿಪಃ |
ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ವಾಕ್ಯವಿದಾಂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ಮಹೀಪತಿಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಋಷಿ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ತಸ್ಯ ತದ್ ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ವಾಕ್ಯವಿದಾಂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ನರಾಧಿಪಃ ಮಹೀಪತಿಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ||

Hearing those words in the midst of all Rishis , the King( Dasaratha) who is adept with words said as follows.

ಪ್ರತಿಗ್ರಹೋ ದಾತೃವಶಃ ಶ್ರುತಮೇ ತನ್ಮಯಾ ಪುರಾ |
ಯಥಾ ವಕ್ಷ್ಯಸಿ ಧರ್ಮಜ್ಞ ತತ್ಕರಿಷ್ಯಾಮಹೇ ವಯಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಪುರಾ ಮಯಾ ಪ್ರತಿಗ್ರಹೋ ದಾತೃವಶಃ ಇತಿ ಮೇ ಶ್ರುತ | ಹೇ ಧರ್ಮಜ್ಞ ! ವಯಂ ತತ್ ಯಥಾವಕ್ಷ್ಯಸಿ ತತ್ ಕರಿಷ್ಯಾಮಹೇ |

"In the olden days I heard that the receiver is under the control of the giver. Oh best of men I will do what ever you say".

ಧರ್ಮಿಷ್ಟಂ ಚ ಯಶಸ್ಯಂ ಚ ವಚನಂ ಸತ್ಯವಾದಿನಃ |
ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ವಿದೇಹಪತಿಃ ಪರಂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಮಾಗತಃ ||

ಸ|| ಸತ್ಯವಾದಿನಃ ಧರ್ಮಿಷ್ಟಂ ಯಶಸ್ಯಂ ಚ ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ವಿದೇಹಪತಿಃ ಪರಂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಂ ಆಗತಃ||

Hearing those words of the truthful and righteous King ( Dasaratha), the ruler of Mithila was (pleasantly ) surprised.

ತತಸ್ಸರ್ವೇ ಮುನಿಗಣಾಃ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸಮಾಗಮೇ |
ಹರ್ಷೇಣ ಮಹತಾ ಯುಕ್ತಾಃ ತಾಂ ನಿಶಾಮವಸನ್ ಸುಖಮ್||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ಮುನಿಗಣಾಃ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸಮಾಗಮೇ ಮಹತಾ ಹರ್ಷೇಣ ಯುಕ್ತಾಃ | ತಾಂ ನಿಶಾಂ ಸುಖಂ ಅವಸನ್ ||

Then the legions of Rishis ( from both sides) met with each other and spent the night joyfully.

ಅಥ ರಾಮೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣೇನ ಸಮಂ ಯಯೌ |
ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ್ಯ ಪಿತುಃ ಪಾದಾವುಪಸ್ಪೃಶನ್||

ಸ|| ಅಥ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ರಾಮಃ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ್ಯ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣೇನ ಸಮಂ ಪಿತುಃ ಪಾದಾ ಉಪಸ್ಪೃಶನ್ ಯಯೌ |

Then great Rama following Viswamitra along with Lakshmana touched the feet of his father.

ರಾಜಾ ಚ ರಾಘವೌ ಪುತ್ತ್ರೌ ನಿಶಾಮ್ಯ ಪರಿಹರ್ಷಿತಃ |
ಉವಾಸ ಪರಮಪ್ರೀತೋ ಜನಕೇನ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ ||

ಸ|| ಜನಕೇನ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ ರಾಜಾ ಚ ಪುತ್ರೌ ರಾಘವೌ ನಿಶಮ್ಯ ಪರಿಹರ್ಷಿತಃ ಉವಾಸ |

Dasaratha too having been well worshipped by Janaka , saw his two sons and spent the night happily.

ಜನಕೋs ಪಿ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾಃ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಂ ಧರ್ಮೇಣ ತತ್ತ್ವವಿತ್ |
ಯಜ್ಞಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸುತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಚ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ರಾತ್ರಿಮುವಾಸಹ||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತೇಜಃ ಜನಕಃ ಅಪಿ ಯಜ್ಞಸ್ಯ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಂ ಧರ್ಮೇಣ ತತ್ವವಿತ್ ಸುತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಚ (ಕ್ರಿಯಾಂ) ಕೃತ್ವಾ ರಾತ್ರಿಂ ಉವಾಸ ಹ ||

The highly radiant Janaka performed his sacrifice following all rituals and also completed rituals for marriage of his daughters.

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ಬಾಲಕಾಂಡೇ ಏಕೋನ ಸಪ್ತತಿತಮ ಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ ||
